Alison is the principal of Ivey Law PLLC and was the former General Counsel of Vulcan LLC (now Vale Group). Over more than 20 years at Vulcan, Alison worked closely with the company’s art team to bring practical, experienced counsel on significant transactions involving fine art, collectibles, and museum-related assets. Her work has included major public auctions, private acquisitions and deaccessions, traveling exhibitions and loans, artist commissions, and collection management matters.

Alison received her law degree magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law and has has been an adjunct professor at SU teaching art and antiquities law.

• Counsel for the consignor for 2022 record-setting public auction at Christie’s generating more than $1.7B for philanthropy

• Counsel for the consignor for 2024 public auction at Christie’s featuring vintage computing artifacts and related artworks

• Legal support for lender in multi-city traveling exhibition of landscape masterworks

• Primary legal point for private acquisitions and deaccessions of fine art and collectibles in a private family collection over a period of 20 years

• Counsel on collection maintenance, loans, transport, title and authenticity matters, risk management, and insurance

• Support for artwork commission agreements for construction and development projects on South Lake Union projects

• Counsel for the sale of museum artifacts (vintage computing and historic aircraft) to third parties for display and preservation
